Florence is located in the heart of Tuscany region in central Italy and is one of Italy's most interesting city for arts and culture. The Uffizi gallery (Galleria degli Uffizi) is one of the world's most famous and important art museum, as it contains unique paintings, fresco and statues made by artists like Giotto, Cimabue, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Caravaggio, just to name few. Ponte Vecchio (meaning "old bridge") is one of Florence's main symbols: it consists of a medieval bridge crossing the Arno river, curious for having homes and traditional shops built onto its top. But these a just few of the main attractions in Florence, deserving a several days visits to the city, especially if you are particularly interested in arts. Public transportation in Florence is provided mainly by bus and minibus; Florence is indeed well connected to the rest of Italy through super fast trains and regional trains, ensuring hourly links to Rome, Milan, Bologna and the other cities in Tuscany. The main railway station in Florence is Santa Maria Novella, but there are smaller stations like Florence Campo Marte and Florence Riffredi used mainly for regional trains.
