Vigevano, about 30 kilometers south of Milan, has one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, surrounded by an arcade with typical shops below and ending into a cathedral with a curved facade. More to the east there is Bergamo, often used as arrival and departure place, because its Orio al Serio airport is served by low cost airlines flying into Milan.
